You are...
a beginner
Learning from a professional pianist like myself means you can develop now the positive habits which will form the basis of a solid technique longterm.
My understanding of psychology and human experience ensure you will be taught in an enjoyable and safe way which draws on your natural ease and respects your enthusiasm, whether you are a child or an adult.
an amateur
I cherish teaching amateur students, who simply enjoy sharing time with an experienced musician, bouncing scores, ideas, inspirations and questions with someone equally passionate.
I will help you brush up on some basics and remedy any technical unease that you may have acquired along the way, spurring you on to go beyond what you can achieve alone. I will also put you in touch with other music-lovers through musical outings or small musical gatherings.
an intermediate level pianist
Scrutiny over technique, posture, interpretation and practice discipline will provide you with an experience to somersault from: close mentoring will enable you to explore you own pianistic wishes, and the new intensity of the work demanded will test your passion against a more advanced level of playing. One-to-one lessons with a professional pianist will give you an invaluable insight into that world, so you may choose how you want to be part of it in the future.
You are...
an advanced player or music student
My guidance will consider both your mental and physical states whilst playing. This supervision will allow you to review and reframe your playing history and act as an immediate mirror for you, so you may take a broader perspective and, by aligning your technique to your body’s own ways, find clarity over where you need to put your attention to improve your playing.
Much work will be based on simply fine-tuning your ear to a professional standard. You will also learn a lot from the regular exposure of playing your programme to an expert in her field, and from playing on an instrument of a similar calibre to the one you may play in a recital.
a professional musician, artist, performer, actor, writer, creative
In my role as a performance coach I will offer you strategies towards dealing with any inner issues you may face, such as performance anxiety, procrastination, memory lapses and writers' block to name but a few. These issues are universal to performance and creativity, and their implications can be devastating on any creative’s journey regardless of talent or dedication. In fact it is the most sensitive who most suffer, and whilst their sensitivity is a gift for their art, it can prove a real obstacle when under the pressures of their industries.
As a coach, my work is to understand your relationship with your work/art - and empower you. I will do that with utmost sensitivity and respect, in a strictly confidential setting. Ultimately, once confident that you have fully grasped them, you will be able to implement these strategies independently.

What people say
I have many wonderful testimonials, here are a few of my favourites:
"It is not easy as a forty something adult to return to the study of an instrument after a twenty year period or to do so where one has continued to play the instrument but has simply become complacent and neglected the discipline of practice.
It requires a very special and personable individual to deal with the insecurities and issues which such an adult student brings. I feel fortunate to have Natalie as my teacher: her wealth of expertise, her encouragement and patience have made me a better pianist and an improved musician."
Easton Griffith, Advanced Piano Student, Bristol
"I am writing to tell you how incredibly transformational your input was on that one, last minute session before my show! It felt as if I had left all my anxieties in your studio: none of it was there with me on the stage any more."
Anonymous, Professional String Player, Bristol
"I really enjoy learning piano with Natalie. She has the ability to see the potential in each of her students and can communicate to them how best to achieve what they are capable of.
Her own passion for music comes across in her teaching and is inspiring- it inspires me to practice- and practice in the way which suits me best. Then l can see myself improve- and that's a great feeling!"
Mary Montgomery, Piano Enthousiast & Amateur Musician, Bristol
"I’m so grateful for the piano lessons Bella has, she is quite shy and I feel like Bella playing the piano is a way to express herself and come out of her shell, especially through COVID it has been tough on the little ones and has been a way for Bella to forget what’s going on in the world! Natalie is a great teacher and Bella has really warmed to her. With the help of the donation I have been able to give Bella the experience of music without this I do not think it would have been possible for her to find her love for music. Thank you so much for helping me be able to give Bella the experience of playing the piano I am very grateful."
Mrs Kirsty Camp, Beginner’s Mum, Bristol
"Thanks so much for our sessions, which helped me to think constructively! You helped me to realise that performance skills can be trained and refined throughout your life, it's not something you are either born with or not. I just had the public event today and it was a great experience. The performance coaching really helped me: I wasn't in "flight" mode! I was able to stay mindful and aware of what I was saying because of the preparation and reflection I had done."
